Words Darker Than Their Wings Lyrics
I hope that I'm wrong
I know that you've tried
But still it is gone
Just don't you lose hope
I swear I'd never dream that we're alone
Now don't you let go
I swear I still believe though I don't know
Remember the years

i just discovered this song, and i have to say i was NOT disappointed! i was rather undoubtedly amazed by its dark undertone.
i think this song could be targeting an imbalance in conscious decisions. one is trying its best to argue, the other is enlightenment. this also symbolizes of depression. this was probably a dark moment in his life, hence the word "darker". by wings he could be unsure of where it will land him.
theres many bits and pieces to analyze, such as the words and their significance, so this would otherwise turn out to be a bit of a complex interpretation. the best i can come up with is a major emotional upheaval or a shift in consciousness. i have been through this myself and so have many others. so at the same time this is also understandable in that form. you see the problem now? do you get a better forefront on reality from this?more importantly, i hope i analyzed it well because indeed this song has a very dark setting involved, and dark thoughts tend to be my niche.
You have to realize that this song is a duet in order to understand it.
Each pair of verse sections is one person expressing doubt and weakness and the other trying to encourage.
The chorus is the encourager's wishes for the doubtful person he's trying to encourage: Into the light may you fall. Into the light may you follow. Into the light. May you find truth alone.
The bridge is more encouragement.
The title seems to refer to the dark feelings of the doubtful person...Very cool very uplifting song.
