I think he wants to get out of the specific way of thinking that from the first he was forced to, and he wants to find his way on himself and doesn't want to listen to old voices and thoughts.

I think this is a song about ties that he's trying to connect to find a way out of a bitter place he's trying to desprettly get out of. This song has a lot of meaning, so does the lyrics. It has the message to tell people that if your ever stuck in a dark, damp, or any kinda dark place, to never stop trying and never give up to get out of it<3 his voice is legendary tho<3333
