   Something happened in the relationship and he was so into it that now that it's falling apart, he's in panic mode and letting thoughts of the relationship are taking over his mind. If it was an upbeat I'm so in love song, the music would be different. He's wanting the relationship back

   This song in my opinion is about falling in love with someone that you really dont know.
   Someone that you just met & like.
   
   Okay, here we go:
   "I guess this is what it's supposed to feel like

   I guess is talking about missing someone that dont knows that much. Like someone that you just see and you kinda like.

   And now is telling that he really likes this person. That he needs to see this person again. He cant live without this person.

   So, here is just telling us about the feeling. He cant stop thinking about this person that he just met.

   He is just singing about dealing with this 'in love' feeling. He is saying how fast they see each other. How short that time was.
