Okay, just a wild thought, but maybe it's saying how he's in a band now, and he's thanking his friends for taking his mind off complicated things from when he was younger...

Danny and Lisa were Daron's childhood friends. This is not a metaphor for LSD. "Sweet Danny and Lisa" is SDL and to say that means LSD is stretching it. I could shuffle any word and get something entirely different out of it.
