Jet Black Heart Lyrics

Everybody’s got their demons
Even wide awake or dreaming
I’m the one who ends up leaving
Make it okay
See a war I wanna fight it
See a match I wanna strike it
Every fire I’ve ignited
Faded to grey
But now that I’m broken
Now that you...

I believe it may be related to depression. the first verse is about demons. He says it. how his demons are what makes him want to strike a match and every fire has faded to grey. Metaphorical. Next verse, Michael talks about how some people know that he’s hurt and he’s wondering if people know what he feels like. Now the next verse I believe is about depression distracting him for happiness. Like the hurricane is depression and “us” is happiness. when Luke sings he is thinking suicidal thoughts and he’s trying his best not to do anything bad. When calum sings, he is trying to find a solution on how to get rid of the sadness and bring the positivity back. Relatable and Quite Poetic.

When they say "Everybody got their demons." That are saying we all have demons we can't control. When they say"Even wide awake or dreaming." I think they mean it doesn't necessarily have to be the demons at night or when u sleep. And because of the demons they do something stupid and it makes the other person mad and Michael just ends up leaving which isn't OK because they still need to talk it through. When the boys say and now that I'm broken they are talking about their past breakup of fight that the demons caused and the girlfriend doesn't understand why Michael is being like this because she can't see his demons. So he doesn't have a red or pink heart. He has a jet black heart that symbolizes the demons and the 'hurricane underneath them' is the demons. Now Michael is holding on for dear life because he doesn't want to lose her. When the end comes and Michael is talking about how he is going to make mistakes but let's just forget it and dive into the dark which is actually the light.

The song is about a guy dealing with problems and it’s deeper than what anyone thinks. The guy is dealing with demons and and mental health issues. I think it’s about Michael. He mentioned having mental health issues before. I think that it’s deeper than what the 5SOS fam thinks it is.

I think this song is for us fans because in the music video they said that they wanted fans to help make it. I think this song is about a depressed or suicidal person and about how they have to live everyday with their demons and they can't control it.
