The song is clearly about coping with anxiety and watching others around you attempt to cope with it as well. It also talks about growing up and feeling lonely with nobody to turn to.

This song is about growing up, and having a good life. I think there is clearly a message and I don't know it, but this is not about suicide and getting drunk.
