Alan Walker - Man on the Moon Meaning

Man on the Moon Lyrics
Never been a science tonight
Staring through a window in time
For someone to show me what I'm like
He said, "Hello", it's like a mirror in the sky
And I can see this from up high
Oh boy, we looking good...

#1 top rated interpretation:I think this song is about a little boy who longs to discover what his true potential is. In a dream, he flies to the moon where he meets the ghost of his dead father, whom he believes is "The Man on the Moon". His father tells him he will be alright as long as he makes wise choices. His father explains that he was born to be a blessing to the world and light it up in times of darkness.
We are all lights in a dark world. You just have to let your light shine for those who's lights are hurt. -
The singer meets himself in the future while flying in his dream. His future self, the "man in the moon", encourages him to "hold it together" (persevere) and "light up the world" (share love/joy/positivity) because "we'll be okay." In the end, his tears dry up because he has hope now: he has a calling/purpose.
