Grenade Lyrics

Easy come, easy go
That's just how you live, oh
Take, take, take it all,
But you never give
Should have known you was trouble from the first kiss, Had your eyes wide open -
Why were they open?
Gave you all I had
And you tossed it in the...

I think this song is about a guy loving a girl and that girl dosen't love him back. He is willing to do anything for the girl to love him.He dosen't want to give up even though she is making it hard for him.

I agree with anonymous above me. I dont know why you gave him such low ratings. it is about his coke addiction. why would he go through ALL that pain, for a girl who doesnt even think about him. its a metaphor. take a bullet through his brain for a girl who doesnt even love him back? he'd take a bullet through his brain because he NEEDS it. Should of known you was trouble from the first kiss (first time he used). You’ll smile in my face then rip the breaks out my car (no brakes- he cant stop using.)etcetera
music isnt always as simple as it seems, especially from a great artist like Mars.

I think that it means that he would do anything for her including his life.

The song is fairly straight forward but the line "throw my hand on a blade" may seem a little out of place for some people. It actually references back to the barbarians that used to cut their hands before war to show that went afraid of death. "Throw" shows the speed of his conviction. Imagine that before she has even finished telling him what he must do and why he has already blood swore his life to her by slamming his hand on a knife. Deep, just deep.

The obvious part of the meaning is that he is willing to give her anything for her love in return. But there is more to it. She is willing to be in a relationship solely for the purpose of taking from him. She has no desire to give anything, only to please herself. To her, he is interchangeable. She loses no sleep in accepting what he gives to her and not being equally generous.

Bruno Mars is trying to express his love for a girl he is clearly in love with and will do apparently anything for. But the girl doesnt feel the same way any more for him and she doesn't appreciate anything from him, even his life.

Its about a guy that loves this girl but no matter what he does she doesn't love him and he feels bad when she sneers at him and goes with another man

My meaning of this song is that Bruno Mars got his heart broken by a girl. He still loves her and would do anything for her, but she doesn't realize it. She wouldn't do anything for him. Also she never appreciated all he does for her.

When i heard the song i did not think much of it, however when i saw the video it occured to me that it alludes to Jesus and the stations of the cross.

The piano, being wooden and heavy, symbolizes the cross. The Latin men yelling and tormenting Bruno symbolize the soldiers, Jewish people and bystanders who doubted Jesus, the son of God.

The women who cheated on him symbolizes Judus.

    "Easy come, easy go
That's just how you live, oh
    Take, take, take it all,
    But you never give
    . . .
    Gave you all I had
And you tossed it in the trash
You tossed it in the trash, you did
To give me all your love is all I ever asked,
Cause what you don't understand is
I’d catch a grenade for ya
Throw my hand on a blade for ya
I’d jump in front of a train for ya
You know I'd do anything for ya
    Oh, oh
I would go through all this pain,
Take a bullet straight through my brain,
    Yes, I would die for ya baby;
But you won't do the same"

Jesus died for our sins, but we cant be bothered to repent for them. His love for us knew no bounds.

Look how he carries the piano. it is like how Jesus carries the cross.
This video is like from Jesus to all the people in the world, but just ina modern version.

My interpretation is that itt's about a guy that is in love with a girl that NEVER loved him. She was just playing him, which is a common thing that guys do in most songs. The song is just simply that and you can clearly interpret it from the lyrics

It's about his cocaine addiction.......... learn to step outside the box.

This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway

Bruno obviously is missing both his hands from this chick. He caught a grenade and threw his hand on a blade for her. Ne one who thinks dis song is about love is ridiculus... She obviously wouldn't do th same so Bruno isn't feel in it... Meaning both his hands are gone- tied behind his back by this devil woman... Ya Hurd
