Quite simply, heaven (or hell) is something we create on this planet. It's a song about what divides us and what should be uniting us to make heaven on Earth. One of my favorite songs.

Often known as the "atheists' anthem" it is a song about a beautiful world that can only be known in the dreams of freethinkers and the like. I will be listening to it live at Live 8 Hyde Park! The song itself, however, is a very beautiful one
