To me, I hear a song about 3 people. One is the man in distress, another is the one giving him advice, telling him to "think about the day she found you", and the last is the woman who has given up on the first man and is moving on. The indecisive man is heartbroken and his love "has no more time" for him and the loss is destroying him as he sees things "dissolve around him" and he "tumbles downward". It's a heartbreaking song. To know someone you love doesn't love you back is the hardest pain to endure. It can crush your soul. The way Tom Chaplin sings it is just so mournful and chilling.
