Guess this means you're sorry
You're standing at my door
Guess this means you take back
All you said before
Like how much you wanted
Anyone but me
Said you'd never come back
But here you are again

'Cause we belong together now,...

The way I see this song, it's about two people who have basically known each other their entire lives and who have gone through ups and downs, getting together and breaking up and getting back together, liking each other and hating each other, being "just friends" and trying to be more, and now they finally realize that "we belong together" and their lives "would suck" without the other person.

This song is about how a person might not be good for you, but you can't stay away from them. You love them no matter how crazy they are.
