This comes from a boys perspective. Obviouslety it starts out with a boy and girl who are seriousley in love and the girl ends up committing suicide because she is in a great depression. And it's so hard for the boy to live without the girl he so loved and he goes into depression.

This means he basically is going into a dark room, shutting the door, and crying for the girl he loves. Wanting her with him. Right my his side.
"I can not hide this, even though I try."
Obviousley means he's trying to hide from the fact that he loved her and he wants her, so others won't feel back for him and want to help, because he thinks no one can help him now.

This means it's getting even harder for him to cope and someone tries to help him, but it makes it worse and he cries for her.

This means If he could be with her one more time, if they could turn this back, he would take her out of depression, be her life, save her from her pain. And he is breathing for the moment he can.

This means he locks himself in a room, trying not to be reminded of life. He doesnt want to cope. He wants to be with her and he thinks he is loosing it. He can't deal with it anymore.

It means the hands on his shoulders, trying to help him, he can't feel them, he can't feel the help. The voices aren't there. He won't listen, he wants his girl but she can't come. He tries to scream his worries, and the people away. But it makes it harder. He thionks the only way to fix this, get his girl, and to escape the pain, is to commit suicide.

He is about to kill himself and he is remembering all the times they had. Like when 'your life flashes before your eyes'

He's on the edge. Thinking of her. He feels numb. He's about to commit suicide. The last thought of her pushes him off the edge of a high building. He falls.Making a joke of all his life.

This explains how he meets her in heaven and they reunite and he will be her life and her voice, he will forever protect her and keep her close to his heart.
One of the saddest songs I have ever heard. The only thing i dont understand is, "There is a pile of my clothes beside your bed."

So as Ed said, Moments is about a boy who wants to escape the thoughts that the girl he loves has killed herself, the only way he can get over her death is through death himself. The lyrics in the chorus are like a desperate plea from the guy to the girl he loves, wishing he could turn back the time and tell her he would be be her everything so she didn’t have to die: “You know I’ll be your life, Your voice, Your reason to be, My love, my heart, Is breathing for this, Moment in time, I’ll find the words to say, Before you leave me today.” Then as this boy is so desperate and sad that he has lost the love of his life, he ends his life by jumping off a building, you can see the thoughts and memories that flash before his eyes before he jumps: “Flashing lights in my mind, Goin’ back to the time, Playin’ games in the street, Kickin’ balls with my feet. There’s a numb in my toes, Standing close to the edge, There’s a pile of my clothes, At the end of your bed. As I feel myself fall, Make a joke of it all.”
It really is an emotional song filled with desperation from the guy to be with the girl he loves again. Really wish Ed would perform it too so we could hear it by him. -

So, as we hear in Zayn's parts "There’s a numb in my toes, Standing close to the edge" and "As I feel myself fall" they want to die to be with her. -
This is the saddest song ever....it's about a girl that dies and how her boyfriend copes. The crying, not wanting anyone to see, wanting to go back in time to relive her last day "Before you leave me today." Then in the bridge of the song, the guy is standing on a bridge or building, reliving the memories while standing on the edge. Kind of like life flashing before your eyes. Then...."There's a numb in my toes,standing close to the edge." He jumps and commits suicide :( "as I feel myself fall..."

Ed Sheeran tweeted that it was just a plain old love song. Someone made it up that it was about a girl who dies so her boyfriend commits suicide.

It's about a girl who dies, and the boy that loves her can't live without her. He is about to jump off a building for her and at the same time he is remembering the good times they had. He wishes he told her how much he loved her, and wishes they could be together ("if we could only have this life for one more day, if we could only turn back time") He also knows that his "judgement is clouded" and is in a state of mind where he can't think straight. All he wants is to be with her again, so he jumps off.

this is song is obviously about a girl who commits suicide and the boy who sings decides that he cant imagine life without her and decides to jump off a building so that he can be with her in heaven. he is talking about how he wishes he'd told her that he loved her and that he wishes he'd told her that she was perfect and that there should have been no reason for her to die like that... if he could only turn back time, if he could only have one more day to convince her to stop. one of the saddest songs ever. so emotional... true love story.

ok soooo i agree its about a girl and a boy.... but i'm guessing the girl is really sick that she's in a state of dying as the word are in present tense 'you know i'll be...' mostly the song is all memories about the guy and his lover..'my judgment clouded like tonight's sky' here the guy compares his judgment to a clouded sky, his judgment being clouded talks us that his in no state of thinking, than we go to the final part were the guy commits suicide as he can not live without this girl and as he does so flashbacks of him and the girl come which convince him that his doing the right thing..sooo there i tried....

I think it could be about him thinking that if only he could turn back time he could change her mind from killing herself.

I think a boy and girl can not be together for whatever reason and at the start of the song he is spending his last minutes beside her and then has to leave.
This song makes me cry.
