Glitter in the Air Lyrics

Have you ever fed a lover with just your hands?
Closed your eyes and trusted, just trusted?
Have you ever thrown a fist full of glitter in the air?
Have you ever looked fear in the face and said, "I just don't care"?

It's only half past the...

I don't know why but I've always seen this song as a sadness about how we take for granted the little things in the grand scheme. Like the "thunder before the lightning". So many of us are so caught up in ourselves and the hustle and bustle of life that when we get thunder and lightning we're so focused on how it ruined our day or how many seconds it is between the thunder and lightning that we don't take the time to appreciate the roll of the thunder. And when she's sitting in the garden, idk why but I see it as an older person who, maybe senility has set in. They're clutching HER coffee, calling her sugar. Now because they've lost so much of their mind, they can never appreciate those things because they took for granted when they could have.

I thought she wrote it when her a corey we contemplating divorce, and looking back and looking forward, wishing things were different. She refers to the "hourglass on the table" (counseling perhaps)

She is mainly referring to the experience of the "first time" and the need for trust from that person. She has a lot of metapors indicating this "the tip of the iceberg" that heatbeating feeling you get before you try something reckless you'll probably never forget. Like in " its only half past the point of no retrurn", explains how stupid the person must feel now from "DOIN IT" and how caught up in the moment the person was in. But in the last stanza it seems she looked upon it as a life lesson that she'll dosn't regret.

I think this song is about throwing passion to the wind and living life to the fullest.

It's mainly about life. The song is just figurative language like Dog Days. -KatyPerryLover
