Don't Hate Me For Loving You Lyrics

My momma stood across the room
Face to face but never eye to eye
Recalling words we said
The battle that we swore
We'd never fight
Breaking pieces off with every lie
A tear came to her eye
And she said

Don't walk away now
And don't rip...

It's song about her relationship with God I think because of the line "Said are you there do you even care to the cross above my head". She wrote it when she was really young. Think the beginning of the song is set during a fight with her and her mum. The second verse I think is about someone she was in love with that broke her heart.
