Sk8er Boi Lyrics
Can I make it anymore obvious?
He was a punk, she did ballet
What more can I say?
He wanted her, she'd never tell
but secretly she wanted him as well.
But all of her friends stuck up there nose
they had a...

Well Basically its her telling the story of a girl who didn't want to go out with this guy because her friends don't think he is cool enough, however some years later he becomes a star and the narrator (Avril) is now with him. basically I think she is trying to say that just because you aren't cool now it doesn't mean you won't be cool when your older. Correct me if I'm wrong, but this is what I think lol

Here's a song that signifies how one girl couldnt "see the man that boy could be, there is more than meets the eye..." and that she was going by what her friends thought. This girl who is living in her "ballet" lifestyle belittles the "punk" and ends things, but is soon to kick herself when she see's the guy on MTV making a good music career for himself, and how this guy has met a new girl who looks beyond face value and sees "the soul that is inside"
Don't judge a book by it's cover, don't judge a guy by the clothes he wears! for true beauty you need the time and effort to look beyond what meets the eye. [But I'm sure this guy was probably quite dishy anyway!!] =P

She(Avril) is practically singing about a fancy-pants ballerina girl and a decent-living sk8er boy. She(the ballerina girl) rejects him. She regrets it 5 years later because she's all alone with her baby. He(The sk8er boy) hits the big time. She(Avril) is singing about how she's his woman. "Sorry girl but you missed out. Well tough luck that boys mine now." That what she's singing about.

Really tho guys, can she make it anymore obvious?

It's about a guy who liked a girl, and she liked him back but her FRIENDS didn't like him. That influenced her to not like him, and reject him.
Five years later, "skater boy" becomes famous and "rocks up MTV". The girl's friends change their minds about him and buys tickets to see his concert. She comes along and regrets her decision.
Man, I can relate to this song. I just wonder whether or not I'll turn out like skater boy :P Haha.

A "pretty face" missed out on an awesome kid and now he's with another girl, in a perfect, close relationship, and how the "pretty" one is pouting that she didn't get "s8er boi." God I <3 this song. :)

I think that this song is saying that whether you be a skater boy of girl, you can be whatever you want to be and when the people who turned you down or bullied you see how amazing you really are and it's to late, they're gonna be sorry that that they were ever bad to you

I think that she is totally writing about her own life before she became famous. Shunned by friends because of unpopularity, and finding where she fit in when she became famous. Rock on Avril!!!! :)

i think its about a typical love story and it tells you to not judge a book by its cover and dont make fun of the person you like just because your friends do.

After reading the lyrics and looking at people's opinions I noticed that there was a lyric that no one really mentioned.
"I'm with the skater boy, I said see ya later boy
I'll be back stage after the show
I'll be at a studio
singing the song we wrote
about a girl you used to know"
This lyric makes me think that the girl who broke up with him had decided to change herself for him in the end. The last lyric says that they will being singing the song they wrote about a girl "you" used to know. She may be implying that what I just said about her changing herself.

i think she has changed the female/male roles here and shes is infact the "skaterboy". maybe some guy back in school rejected her because other people didn't consider her cool enough and now she's famous and his life is somewhat less desirable
This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway

I think that the pretty girl likes the sk8er boy and so does he. But her friends does not like him because of his clothes so she just ignore her feeling. Then after the 5 years she is a single mother with a kid and see the sk8er dude on mtv and go with her friend to his concert and shes not afraid to tell about her feeling. But he moved on and is with someone else. So that means dont judge a book by its cover. He may look like a punk but be kind.

I agree with the version that the song is about Avril Lavigne and Deryck Whimbley's love. and i'm guessing Paris Hilton is a "ballet girl" .. haha
I love this song ))
