Christina stepped into this romance and was able to feel the love as if it was her own. Each word she wrote pours out her own romantic hopes and dreams about how she wishes love will be for her and the one she loves. She is able to capture the emotional side of those that listen. You see her beauty, you feel her pain, you taste the sweetness of love as she sings. There is intensity in her writing and fire in her voice. For those she loves, there is passion beyond belief, everlasting and true. This is an inspiration for those guys that feel there are no more girls left who love like this. This song reminds me of Jack and Rose on Titanic, with their unconditional love. Like Rose was so scared because their love was forbidden and Jack wanted to protect her no matter what and the song is Old Rose remembering their love and saying that she will love him even when she dies and then when she dies and Jack is waiting for her he is saying that he too has been waiting and he will always love her. That's what I got out of it.

I really love this song,It really influences me...I think this song is about a girl who has been in love with a boy,but she hadn't had enough courage to talk to him about her feeling,but know she can't stop loving him,she wants to give a chance,she wants to tell him her beautifull emotions,that's why she said"I've died every day waiting for you"...or"one step closer"..or "doubts go away".....now she really wants to be with him,and she is really sure about herself,her feeling and also himself,she is sure that she is always in love with him,It's why she decide to go one step closer....that's the most beautifull feeling of world:waiting thousands years for someone who is everything to you....

Although I doubt this is what the song was intended to mean... to me it interprets the struggle my daughter went through in her first few months of life. She was a micro preemie who was very sick and spent a long time in a NICU. Every word of this song strikes a cord with me personally because the lyrics are so bang on to what you feel when you go through something like this. Your afraid to love because you may be hurt and lose them, every day is a struggle waiting for them to finally come home, watching her 'stand alone' represents being in the incubator and being helpless and you just love them.. and always will even if they are not with you in the end 'love you for a thousand years'. And of course 'One step closer' is the daily inspiration till the day till they do come home.

First of all, Christina Perri wrote this song for the Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn part 1. It actually IS about Bella and Edward, it's about their wedding. When Bella walks down the aisle, her heart beats fast and that she's always known that Edward is the one and only for her. 'I have died everyday ....' Is when Edward watches Bella getting closer to him, which feels like a thousand years, he's waited so long for her, he literally 'died' for her and he'll love her for a thousand years, forever. It also is about Edward being afraid to hurt Bella and Bella not letting him go away again, that he'll always be hers. No matter how you guys interprete this song, it is always amazing <3

It could be the love of a boy from a girl that she has loved him for a very long time but never had the courage to confront him because she wasn't sure if he would feel the same way. The second verse could be the now couple having the child and the girl with never let her offspring be taken away or harmed.

I think this song is about a girl who is so in love with this guy and he doesn't love her back. She is saying that she will always love him and she will wait as long as she has to for him to finally love her back. My boyfriend who I was so in love with broke up with me a week ago and he loved me too but he lost that feeling apparently. I still love him and I always will love him. And I can connect with this song so well because I will wait as long as it takes for him to love me again :)
