   I think it's about Larry, They are behind closes door, so Lou wears Harry's Sweater. They want to be more than friends, but they are to scared, or they are but to afraid to show the world. Harry is always sad when Lou is with Eleanor. Whenever Lou is gone, Harry has half a heart, because Lou has the other part of it.

   maybe they have broken up with their girlfriend and they miss her so much that they wrote a song about her. half a heart could mean that they are only half without their girl.

   this song (what i think) is about a guy who feels half empty without the girl he loves, but they had to brake up for unknown reasons, and he wants to see her again so they could possibly get back together ( I honestly think this song is about Liam and Danielle, i miss them together)

   It seems like the after the couple have split up the boys friends has told him about how much the girl has been missing him and vice versa and that when they are not together they feel incomplete hence the similies and metaphors in the chorus which show that even though they both have parts of each other (sweater etc) they still are half a heart without each other.

   Half a Heart is about a boy who feels like he is missing half of himself when he is not with a girl. It seems like from Zayn's solo that they broke up and he wants to get back with her because he misses her so much and from the first verse, sounds like she misses him too.
