She is depressed (her soul is sick)...
She is calling out for help...
She doesn't want him to leave her...
She is saying,"You are the only one who can save me"...
If you look at the video, she appears to be in a nightmare...

According to Amy Lee, the song has several meanings, the first being an incident at a restaurant. During an interview from a tour stop in Tulsa she told The Boston Phoenix: "I was inspired to write it when someone said something to me — I didn’t know him, and I thought he might be clairvoyant. I was in a relationship and I was completely unhappy. But I was hiding it. I was being completely abused and I was trying to cover it up; I wouldn’t even admit it to myself. So then I had spoken maybe 10 or 15 words to this guy, who was a friend of a friend. We were waiting for everyone else to show up, and we went into a restaurant and got a table. And he looked at me and said, ‘Are you happy?’ And I felt my heart leap, and I was like, he totally knows what I’m thinking. And I lied, I said I was fine. Anyway, he’s not really clairvoyant. But he is a sociology major. Lee said in a VH1 interview: "Open-mindedness. It's about waking up to all the things you've been missing for so long. One day someone said something that made my heart race for a second and I realized that for months I'd been numb, just going through the motions of life." During an interview with Blender, Lee claimed that she wrote "Bring Me to Life" about her longtime friend, Josh Hartzler, whom she married in 2007. -
To me, i believe she is talking to god in this song. In the song she says "only you are the life among the dead".

I think that the song represents the way Amy Lee felt when she was with Seether frontman, Shaun Morgan. She felt depressed and suicidal and felt asleep and wanted to feel again. This song means a lot to me, especially when I feel like I'm in the dark.
I can honestly relate to this song when I feel like I've lost hope. I want to stop feeling depressed and get over my suicidal feelings. -
For me this song has always been about feeling numb and dead inside and wanting to feel something, anything again. Thats exactly what i was going through when i first heard this song and i dont think I've ever instantly related to a lyric so well. i felt i was nothing cos i felt nothing. and wanted to be saved from myself. im glad to say im much better now.

Amy lee is talking to her boyfriend. She is telling the doctor or boyfriend to wake her up because she can't wake up and tells the boyfriend to save her and call her name to save her form the dark side and she tells her boyfriend to make her blood curculate her body . she telling her doctor or boyfriend that now that he now what she is with out him he can't just leave her there to die.Repeats what she says.she is telling her boyfriend that with out his touch she is frozen and can't move.she tells her boyfriend that he is the only one that is alive and not dead. then her boyfriend tells her that he could not see her because she is in the dark. amy then says that it seems that she had a very long napand that she dose not want to die yet and that there is more to life. and repeats what she said.

I think this song is based on MacBeth, because she climbs higher and higher, and the lead singer of lnkin park(the doctor) tries to save her:') and in the lyrics, theres lot's of hints to the play too:3

My interpretation of this song is:
First it sounds like a couple with an intimate relationship with someone who opens up new feelings...
It then sounds as if she has lost the love of her life and has gone into a depression and is asking someone to call her name and bring some happiness back into her life...
It then sounds like she has no meaning in her life.... Frozen without your touch lost without your love your the only life among the dead..... To me this again is like she is lost and that the person she lost is the only person who is able to bring her back to the living instead of being with what seems to be the dead... -
I think this song is about her searching for the right guy. Someone who is going to treat her better than the others that have come before him. A guy who is going to make her once shattered life, feel whole once more.

I think this song is about someone who has loved for the first time in a long time.
At the begining of this song she says "How can you see into my eyes like open doors?
Leading you down in to my core, where i've become so numb" That paragraph makes me think that someone who she barely knows, can see what she feels inside, the things she loves the things she hates, etc....., so she decides to 'lead' this person down to her 'core' which i think means heart, and she has become so numb in her heart because she hasn't loved for ages, so that make me think she wants this person (could be a man) to un-numb her heart.
Then she says

By this i think she is saying to this man that I have no life in me (Because you don't have life without a soul) and she dosn't know how to find her spirit, basically find her self, so she is saying to him you've got to find a way to bring my spirit back and give me life, and that i can love.
Then it goes:

When it goes 'wake me up inside' i think that her spirit is calling out to this man, and she is trying to lead the man to her spirit, basically a cry for help.
After, she says:

I believe that when amy says that, she is saying she forgot how good it was to have a soul and to love, so she trlls the man you can't leave now you have to stay and help be alive, that she can't live without him!
then:
'Frozen inside without your touch, without your love, darling, only you are the life among the dead!'
She is saying that inside her is 'frozen without his love' so without it she is dead, and since she is dead he is the only cure to her survival and her life.
Then the man says:
All of this time i can't believe i couldn't see, kept in the dark but you were there in front of me'
He means that he can't believe that for ages that she was the one for him, but he just coudn't see that they were meant to be together!'
Amy says;
i've been sleeping a thousand years it seems, i've got to open my eyes to everything!'
She has not had a life for so long that now she has to learn to love again.
he says:
'Without thought, without mind, without soul.' he's saying the 'symptoms' if u like of what amy has.
she says:
Don't let me die here.
she is asking him not to leave her and not to lose her soul forever.
he says:
'there must be something more!'
He thinks there is another way to save her?
she says:
'Bring me to life!' she is still saying help!
and then it goes back to corous and it means she is still trying to lead him to her soul. well that's my interpretation everyone thank u!!!! :) -
This song to me is about her being in a abusive relationship and her friends and her met in a cafe and he asked her if she was happy and then she felt like he could ''see into my eyes like open doors leading you down into my core'' later on she married him :).

Well, it's like feeling empty. She wants someone to make her happy and she wants to live again. This song actually describes me perfectly. I feel empty inside and I want to be happy again. It is very beautiful.
