Where Will You Go Lyrics

You’re too important for anyone
You play the role of all you long to be
But I, I know who you really are
You’re the one who cries when you’re alone

[Chorus:]
But where will you go
With no one left to save you from yourself
You can’t...

The song is good as well as the band. In this song she says:"I am so sick of speaking words than no-one understands". Any other person would not understand their inner truth until they come to feel that truth by themselves. Even if they understand it mentally, they would say that that's not about them. So speaking to sickness is not useful. But anyway the song is great.

I always thought it was about someone shutting themselves off from everyone and everything, maybe cos they're scared of being hurt, and she's asking where will then go when there's no one left for them?

I personally think that this song is about herself. The "you" in the lyrics means her soul. She plays a role when she is around people but she cries when she is alone, because she is lonely and no one sees what kind of personality she really has (she feels that nobody loves her so she acts like she hated them). She wants to get away from this life but she knows she can't leave everything behind. She has to realize she needs to be strong and live this nightmare.

I think it means she's in a relationship with someone who can only think of himself- "You're to important for anyone". She knows how insecure he really is- "You think I can't see right through your eyes","I, I know who you REALLY are". She is telling him he can't always live like this- "But where will you go? With no one left to save you from yourself? You can't escape, you can't escape, I realize you're afraid."

First off I'd just like to say that this is just my interpretation of this song. Okay, in the first verse Amy Lee talking about someone, saying that they seem to think they're above other people. The next line makes it sound like the person doesn't know who they are, they're playing roles of other people or things. Then Amy Lee says that she can see past the acts of the person the song is about, she knows who the person is and that who they are is someone who is sad.

The first chorus is implying that they have no one to talk to. Or that whoever they used to talk to left. They have no where or no one to go to anymore. They're trapped where they are and cannot get out of it.

The next verse says that the person thinks they're hiding all of their despair well but Amy Lee can see that they are scared of life and the truth of it. They have no no one to help them and no one appears to care or 'hear' that something is wrong. The last line again implies that they lost someone who they used to talk to/have.

The second chorus seems to saying that Amy Lee (or whoever is the singer) isn't able to help the person anymore. And though they don't want to accept this they can't escape it. Amy Lee then seems to be trying to talk the person out of suicide. She tells the person that she understand things are hard for them but that they can't leave everyone. That they can't escape (as in they are not allowed to), and that they don't really want to.

The bridge shows that Amy Lee is sick of trying to help this person because no one listens. Including the person it is about. She tells them that they can't live shut out from other people. She then proceeds to tell the person that she has always been there for them but they were not there for her.

The third chorus repeats a lot of the second one, telling the person they are stuck and shouldn't run from the truth. She then tells them to not shut out the world. She then again seems to plead witht the person, telling them they can't escape, the don't want to, and they they won't.

Probably the Ev song I relate to the most. So for me, the song is directed at her own inner self. It's about pretending to be someone you're not and pushing everyone away to avoid getting close to anyone and having to endure their judgements. The reason for this fear of getting close is revealed in the bridge--you can't relate to anyone and you're all but ignored. But then it says you can't escape who you are, even if you're afraid to face the world outside your shell. Just my take on the song. ;)

There's actually another version of this song. Here are the lyrics to the other version:

    You're too important for anyone
There's something wrong with everything you see
But I, I know who you really are
You're the one who cries when you're alone

    Where will you go,
With no-one left to save you from yourself?
You can't escape, you don't want to escape

However did you manage to push away,
From every living thing you come across?
So afraid that anyone will hate you,
You pretend you hate them first

    Where will you go,
With no-one left to save you from yourself?
    You can't escape the truth
    I realize you're afraid,
But you can't refrain from everything
You can't escape, you can't escape

I am so sick of speaking words than no-one understands
Is it clear enough that you can't live your whole life all alone?
I can hear you when you whisper, but you can't even hear me screaming

    And where will you go,
With no-one left to save you from yourself?
    You can't escape the truth
    I realize you're afraid,
But you can't reject the whole world
    You can't escape
    You won't escape
    You can't escape
    You don't want to escape

I think this song is about a person who's a total loner. He acts like he hates everyone. But he actually doesn't. He's afraid they'll hate him if they know him. Maybe he was abused or got bullied a whole lot when he was little or both, and he thinks that people will hate him and do all they can to hurt him more. So he does everything he can to avoid contact with people. He really wants a friend, but he's too afraid of getting hurt by somebody. Amy somehow figures out that this is what's going on and tries to help him, but he won't let her.

She cares about someone who can only care about himself, and she's telling him that sooner or later, not only will he have to face the world, but he'll have to face that his life isn't what he's convincing himself it is- that it's not perfect. She's worried because she loves him so much that she can almost feel what he is- "I can hear you when you whisper but you can't even hear me screaming"- but he can't hear her desperate pleas for him to change while there's still time.

i think it is about a person who is running away from the world but doesn't want anyone to know. "Where will you go with no one left to save you from yourself" maybe the person is suicidal?

"You think that I can't see right through your eyes/scared to death to face reality"
the person is too afraid to face the real situation and just wants to run away from it

"no one seems to hear your hidden cries/your left to face yourself alone"
no one listens to the person so they have to deal with everything on their own

"im so sick of speaking words that no one understands/is it clear enough that you can't live your whole life all alone/i can hear you in a whisper/but you can't even hear me screaming"
no one believes her when she says that the person needs help, and the person refuses to listen to her when she says that they need to face the situation. and she is the only one who willingly listens to teh person and tries to help them.

I think this song is about someone who may act and seem confident and strong on the outside but really is broken up inside. Hence the lines:"You're too important for anyone
You play the role of all you long to be
But I, I know who you really are
You're the one who cries when you're alone"

It could either be about Amy telling these things to a friend or too a deeper part of herself.

I think may b this song is bout some1 who kinda has some kind of problem. (duh, obviously!) k wat I mean is, that this person is so quick to judge ppl

"So afraid that anyone will, hate you
You pretend you hate them first"

and this person may try to act tough as to hating others and being to good for somebody. They're kinda isolated

    "you're to important for anyone
You play the role of what you want to be
But I, I know who you really are
You're the one who cries when you're alone"

It's probably also about how this person is trying to escape from the world because he or she can't take the pressure, the responsibilities or just evrything in general. But they're being told by (amy) that the past will catch up if you keep running. Rather than stopping and facing whatever happened, they run, try to forget it, but it still follows them and haunts them in the back of their mind. And the only person who can confront this is that person, no one can save them from their mistakes because its no one elses fault except theirs.

    That's just my opinion
