You are all dumb asses. It's about a boy who's having an affair with a girl who's already with someone else. But he fell in love with her & wants more than the affair hence he can love her more than this - "this" being just the boy on the side. But she won't leave the other guy but he still hopes that one day she'll realise his love for her. Whenever they're together they're happy but he gets sad everytime they part hence he asks her to stay a lil longer. It hurts him to see her with her bf or hubby or whoever.

Liam's part is saying that this girl has been on his mind so much that she is everything he thinks about and sees. He's praying that her heady will turn around and see that he is and has been there tot her all alone. Harry's part and the chorus is about how when the girl's new boyfriend holds her it wont be right because she deserves the love that he can give her not what shes getting from her new guy. Niall's part is saying that if he tells her he loves her will she hear him. Will she accept his love. He says she is slant ti be with him and she saved him but when she leaves him hes empty again. Louis's part says that when he sees her with her new boyfriend it hurts so much that he can't hold himself together. He prays that its not real. Zayn's part says that he's never told her how he feels but now that he sees her leaving him he wants her to stay with him. His love is the "light" that he prays that she will see.

I feel this is the situation i am in. Me and my girlfriend broke up and she is now with another guy and i love her more than she wil ever know and it kills me inside to know she is in another guy's arms and i know she is too good for him and that we were meant to be.

aparently (acording to my friend) its about one of the band members in love with one of the other band members girlfriend and how he's like wants to be with her but doesnt want to hurt his friend

I think they are saying "I can love you more than this" instead of "I can`t" because that would make more sence to the song: A boy loves a girl but she is with someone else, and the boy doesnt tell her because his afraid she might chose her boyfriend over him. But he knows he can love her more than her boyfriend does.

A boy is in love with a girl he sees her everyday and it pains him to see her with the wrong Person but he dosnt want to hurt her by telling her that he should be with her out of a fear she dosnt feel the same -

I think that it is about a boy and a girl who break up and the boy is in love, but the girl has moved on and shes with somebody else, but the boy still loves her a lot. basically in my mind, its saying "I love you a lot, nobody could love you more than me, come back"

I agree with the last interpretation. As they sing:
"cause I can't love you more than this,"
I don't think it's meant to be the person saying that his limits for love has been reached, and that
"I just can't do it anymore,"
But instead, it's him saying that it's impossible for him to love her more, because he already loves her more than anything..
If that makes sense. -
The song is about about a relationship that has failed, and the partner has moved on... but the other partner still wants to be with him/her. The song says, 'When he opens his arms and holds you close tonight, it just won't feel right, cause I can't love you more than this...' he's basically saying, it's either me or him, And if you go to him, then "I can't love you anymore, I have to leave you alone."
