Gingerbread Man Lyrics
I don't need a man to make my life sweet.
Prince Charming, just isn't the one that I think I need.
You're thirsty, you think I give out all my shit for free.
I'm bursting, out laughing at idiocy.
I need a Gingerbread Man, the...

This is where Crybaby takes back what she said in 'Cake'. Now, she only wants a boy that will have sex with her. The "prince charming's" weren't the ones she wanted, so she decided to want the ones who were 'always crazy'. (See what I did there?)

It's a good song either way

Guys are always breaking Crybaby's heart. She's sick of all the fake love and wants to be in a real relationship. She probably wants a guy to have sex with.
One of the lines, "You're thirsty, you think I give out all my shit for free, I'm bursting, laughing at idiocy." Which probably means guys think they can win Crybaby and have sex with her easily. And she laughs at them for acting like idiots.
She says she needs a "Gingerbread Man". She wants someone who loves her and doesn't just want her for sex.

Crybaby probably wants to fall in love with somebody who's good enough for her. Somebody to have sex with. But none of the guys are good enough for her and don't start a relationship.

I feel like she wants to be seen as anything but a child (she's been called Crybaby all her life by her family and peers and the name stuck like glue). "One who's always crazy, Never calls me baby that's the one that I want, All you boys are not him" I think Crybaby wants to be seen as a woman and her older Gingerbread Man gives her that special attention and "loves her harder" than any boy could.

I think that cry baby is tierd of all the " prince charming" the guys that say love her and then end up breaking her heart and she wants someone that she can have sex with and not be in a relation ship.

i really think desperation is behind all of it. melanie may be imperfect but its ok to have desires. i mean we all are looking for love in the wrong places and for the wrong reasons. thats why she writes these songs to learn a life lesson that maybe she learned the hard way.

Loves just not there at the moment. But lust clouds her and all she want is another man with the look of lust. Or you know love but men don’t love her in that sense back.

In Summary: She's tired of all the "prince charmings" breaking her heart so she just wants a guy who she can have sex with and nothing more
anonymous Sep 14th, 2017 9:18am report
I feel like the meaning of this song is that after the first boy and how that turned out(cake) she realizes that maybe trying something different would help her with the pain by finding a dude that catches her eye but doesn't notice her (a line from the song )but only for sex nothing more because she's not ready to be in a relationship again just yet as in the line of the song (I wanna feel your crumbs all over my body )

Melanie is looking for somebody who understands her and will know her a lot more better than all those other guys who do anything and try to be really romantic as this is where the "prince charming" lyrics come from because she doesnt want perfect guys she wants guys whp will love her for who she is
anonymous Oct 22nd, 2016 10:19pm report
It's about her wanting somebody who can understand her type of level of craziness
anonymous Jul 10th, 2016 7:34am report
The song is about Cry Baby's Christmas. She doesn't want her lover to be some kind of Prince Charming, she just wants him to have sex with her. She doesn't like that all the boys that like her want to be the perfect partner, she likes the boys who never seem to notice her, so she's stuck with guys who are too scared to have sex with her
