Sippy Cup Lyrics
Blood still stains when the sheets are washed
Sex don't sleep when the lights are off
Kids are still depressed when you dress them up
And syrup is still syrup in a sippy cup
He's still dead when you're done with the bottle

#1 top rated interpretation:“blood still stains when the sheets are washed”-no matter how hard you ignore something it's still going to there even when you ignore it
“sex don't sleep when the lights are off”-even though your sleeping doesn't mean ur partner is.
“pill diet, pill diet, if they give you a new pill then you will try it, it they say to kill your self then you will try it”-the vulnerability of hopping on the band wagon and believing if you were to do these things and change your self for another person, basically like the saying 'if he jumped off a cliff, would you do it' and how everyone doesn't do anything for themselves it's always for someone else.
“kids are still depressed when you dress them up and syrup is still syrup in a sippy cup”-no matter what you dress it in it won't change what it is and remains the same it's the 'same problem, different day'

#2 top rated interpretation:This is basically telling us "...what goes down in the kitchen..." Cry Baby's mother finds out about her husband cheating, and in a drunken state kills her husband and his mistress. When she finds out that Cry Baby saw what happened, she drugs her. It's also about how trying to hide things doesn't change what it is.

Crybaby's mom kills Crybaby's dad because he cheated on her and Crybaby is in fear of what will happen to her. (This is just my theory)
-
Crybaby's dad was cheating on her mom so her mom kills her dad and his mistress. Crybaby sees it happen and her mom try's to kill her by drugging her sippy cup. "Drugs diet drugs diet" her mom only allows her to eat drugs.
-
You all might be thinking too deep into this. It means how small actions can't fix what has happened. "Blood still stains when the sheets are washed." You can't cover what has happened. It doesn't fix anything. "He's still dead when you're done with the bottle."
-
This is the first time I've heard of this song or her but What you guys are missing is this part
"syrup is still syrup in a sippy cup
He's still dead when you're done with the bottle
Of course it's a corpse that you keep in the cradle"
This is talking about killing her baby and keeping the babies corpse in the crib still these lyrics describe infant murder drugging the child and that the child's still dead when she's done with the bottle it could mean an alcoholic bottle or in her psychosis she is still using a bottle to feed her babies corpse that she keeps in the crib -
This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway

Sippy cup is like a deeper look into crybaby's family life which was mentioned in the song Dollhouse with the lyric (one day they'll see what goes down in the kitchen). In the first scene we see her mom passed out under the sink when her husband comes back drunk with another woman. Her mom then ties them both in chairs and killed them. Crybaby finds the bodies and her mom drugs
One time during her tour she answered a question the fans were asking whether cry baby died at the end of the music video she said No Cry Baby didn't die her mom just drugged her to make her go to sleep to forget what she saw -
(Sorry I know I’m basically repeating everyone else)
Sippy cup is what “goes down in the kitchen”
Crybaby’s mom is heavily drunk and finds her husband with the sl*t from dollhouse.
(“Mom please wake up, Dad’s with a sl*t”)
Super drugged and hungover, she murders the dad and his mistress.
Crybaby finds the bodies, and her mom drugs her so that she never knew what happened.
The metaphor “blood still stains when the sheets are washed” is about how just because you try and fix something doesn’t mean the problem is gone. The sheets will forever have history of the blood even after you wash them.
The metaphor “syrup is still syrup in a sippy cup” means that you can’t cover up something by making it seem innocent; you can’t feed a baby straight syrup, but if you put it in a sippy cup then it’s fine -
Sippy Cup is 'what goes down in the kitchen', a lyric from Dollhouse. It talks about Crybaby's mother's problems. She is very insecure about her looks (All the make-up in the world won't make you less insecure) and weight (You've got weights in your pockets, when you go to the doctors). She tries to keep her kids happy and is angry at her husband for cheating (he doesn't think I'm that f***ing dumb does he). The husband comes home with another woman, and the mom, in a drunken rage, stabs them both. Crybaby is horrified when she sees their bodies so her mother forces a liquid drug in a sippy cup down her throat to make her forget everything.

"your favourite candy is cotton candy, that's why your teeth are rotten" - references to a trend in 2013 where you swallow cotton balls with some kind of chemical to make you feel full. in fact, it gave you a series of health problems and made you super skinny. in the line, Melanie seems to be addressing a person who does this; she says the line in a kind of 'condescending' way to give the song a layer of guilt, acting as a deterrent for viewers. also, by using the pastoral adjective 'rotten' it makes the process of killing your body seem 'natural' so this makes the process seem a part of the social norm, embedded in culture of many communities. lastly, if you listen to the sound of the words, 'rotten' sounds misleading (sounds sweet and 'lifting') or 'candy' sounding intimidating.

I think that this is a continuation of 'Dollhouse'. It seems to be Crybabies mother's point of view. If you listened to Dollhouse, you would know Crybabies mom is an achohalic, her brother does drugs, and her dad is having an affair.
I think this is about her mother's problems, trying to keep her kids happy, and her anger twords her husband. -
In sippy cup it talks about Melanie's other song, dollhouse. We get to see what goes down in the kitchen, which is a line from dollhouse. It sings about when Crybaby's mom kills Crybaby's dad and his mistress. Crybaby's mom is drunk on the floor when Crybaby's dad comes home with his mistress. Her mom gets up off the floor and ties up her dad and the mistress and kills them.
Crybaby wakes up in the middle of the night. She goes downstairs and finds her dad and his mistress dead. Her mom finds her and takes her to her room. She then drugs her to make her fall asleep.
BTW I LUV MELANIE MARTINEZ! -
I think the meaning of the song is that, no matter what you do to try to hide or conceal things, and no matter how much you lie to yourself or make yourself forget, your problems are still there.
The phrase "syrup is still syrup in a sippy cup" means that, even you dress something up in a pretty or innocent cover, it still is rotten on the inside. Same goes for "kids are still depressed when you dress them up". It doesn't matter what you to to them on the outside--it still isn't going to be fixed on the inside. The fact that Crybaby's mom puts drugs in a sippy cup means that she's trying to avoid confronting her problems. She tries to convince herself that when the outside is innocent, the inside will become innocent, too.
One of the main topics of the song is that, no matter how much you lie to yourself or convince yourself that you're okay, your problems still exist. That phrase "he's still dead when you're done with the bottle" illustrates this point perfectly. Same goes for "blood still stains when you washed the sheets". -
This is my fav song from Crybaby so I may be able to explain it well.
The song focuses more about Crybaby’s parents than Crybaby herself. It is talking about how nothing changes completely no matter how hard you try to change it.
Now I’m going to explain the verse about crybaby’s mom.
“Pill Diet, pill diet.
If they give you a new pill then you will try it.
If they say to kill yourself then you will try it.
All the makeup in the world won’t make you less insecure.
You’ve got weights in your pockets when you go to the doctors. Your favourite candy’s cotton, that’s why all your teeth are rotten.”
It is talking about how much of a mess the mom actually is behind her mask.
Pill diet (she is taking pills to help her deal with an alcahol addiction ect.)
If they say to kill yourself then you will try it, it is talking about how much her mom listens to others.
It also talks later about her mom being insecure.
“ You’ve got weights in your pockets when you go to the doctors.” Her mom has an eating disorder.
“ our favourite candy’s cotton, that’s why all your teeth are rotten.” This line is either about the “cotton ball diet” or Bullimia.

This song is basically a part 2 to "Dollhouse", it sings about how Crybaby's alchoholic mom kills her cheating dad and his misstress. So this song is basically telling us what goes down in the kitchen from "Dollhouse". Crybaby sees her mom kill her dad and her mom drugs her with a sippy cup and puts her back to bed.
A lot of people also say Crybaby's mom could also have a eating disorder cause of the phrase "You got weights in your pockets when you go to the doctor's" which I agree with.
Also Crybaby's mom might regret killing her dad because the phrase "He's still dead when you're done with the bottle" means she got drunk when she killed him. -
What I believe and what most people believe is that the song is singing about Crybaby's mom killing her cheating dad and his mistress. It also sounds like her mom drugged her because of that phrase, "syrup is still syrup in a sippy cup" which could mean drugs in a sippy cup.
